Are your products sustainably sourced?
Yes, we are proud to offer yarn and fiber of the highest quality and aim to be equally kind to animals, people and the earth.
We believe in natural, sustainable fibers, promote good animal husbandry, the reduction of plastics in our oceans and recycle as much as possible. You will notice that many of our products are handmade, Oeko Tex certified and/or certified organic.
All our products are dyed using safe, sustainable methods that are specifically designed not to waste water. Our vendors are carefully vetted - we actually know most of them personally. Many of our partners are conscientious small farms and independent fiber producers who cannot afford to undergo the formal certification process due to the high costs involved.
You can find the specific information listed for each product under the Sustainability header or see the full glossary here: Our Promise
Is your fiber Cruelty Free?
We only purchase wool from sheep that are non-mulesed, so you can rest easy knowing that our products are cruelty free. If you prefer not to use animal products, we also offer a large selection of vegan fibers.
You can find this information listed on each product page under the Sustainability header – just look for the Non-Muelsing or Vegan icons.

Can I place a custom order?
At this time, we do not offer custom products. Our catalog offers a wide range of colors, fibers and combos to suit any taste or project.
Are the colors true to what I see on my screen?
We take great care to photograph our products as accurately as possible but there are always slight variations from screen to screen that may display colors a little differently.
All of our hand dyed products are made in small batches and therefore have unique character. Pictures of hand dyed fibers yarns are representational of the average appearance.
How much yarn will I need for my project?
Yardage for any given project will vary depending on needle size, specific stitches and knitter's personal yarn tension. Most patterns include recommended yardage.
What size needle or hook do I need for my yarn?
Choosing the best needle or hook size depends on yarn weight and material content of the yarn as well as the personal tension style of the knitter. We always recommend creating a swatch before you start your project to see whether you need to adjust your needle/hook size.
How much filler wool do I need for my stuffed project?
Volume of wool needed for stuffing will vary depending on the fiber type and desired firmness.
For a standard bed pillow (20"x26") we recommend 2lb of combed filler wool.
For a medium sized stuffy (10"-12" tall) we recommend 8oz of combed filler wool.
Do you offer wholesale pricing?
While we do not offer a wholesale program, we can work with you for bulk orders. Please contact us to ask about ordering large amounts.
