This kit includes everything you need to learn spinning your own yarn: a solid wood drop spindle, hand-dyed, pre-drafted BFL wool roving and a set of instructions complete with link to a video demonstration.
For beginning spinners we pre-drafted this super soft BFL roving to thumb thickness so that you can concentrate on hand movements rather than drafting.
Not only is our BFL wool made from the finest, softest combed top available (you will quickly see why a lot of experienced spinners prefer Blue Faced Leicester to Merino), it is also hand dyed to perfection by US artisans in our local independent dye studio.
We also include a solid hardwood drop spindle with a notch in the whorl that keeps your spun yarn in place and printed instructions with video link.

BFL is a longwool with a staple length of 3-4 inches with slight curl and fine crimp. It spins into a beautiful, lustrous yarn with great resilience. 26mic, but feels softer.
Our BFL roving is kettle dyed in small batches. Expect tonally complex, vivid coloring with nuances that can only be achieved by hand dyeing - no two skeins look exactly the same.
