Eri Silk - Natural Red

Eri is also called Peace Silk or Ahimsa Silk - it is harvested after the silk caterpillar emerges from its cocoon as a moth, allowing it to live a full life cycle. It has all the great properties of silk, with the added bonus of being 100% cruelty-free!

Eri Silk is un-dyed: The rich golden-red, glossy bronze and copper tones are completely natural and come from the conditions in which the silk worms are cultivated. It is much prized for it's beautiful coloring and longevity - this rare precious fiber was reserved for royal garments in ancient China. Eri Silk can produce rich deep tones when overdyed.
