Muga is the strongest of the silks, and among the most durable of all natural fibers.

This precious golden fiber is only produced in the Assam region of India and was once reserved for royalty. When handled with care, garments made from this premium grade silk will last a lifetime. 

Today, Muga silk coveted by fiber artists worldwide for creating traditional wedding wear and adding exquisite texture to fiber projects. 

This glossy golden silk can be spun on its own or blended with virtually any other fiber, or it can be used in combination with wool to add softness, texture and sheen to felted fabrics.
