Tussah Silk - Bleached White , Bright White
Tussah silk, also known as Wild Silk, isn't strictly cultivated so the caterpillars can receive varying diets resulting in different hues and textures. It has a slightly shorter staple length than Mulberry, Muga or Eri silk. This Premium Grade Tussah silk has been bleached for a brilliant white color.
This glossy white silk can be spun on its own or blended with virtually any other fiber to add softness, beautiful shine and a cooling, temperature balancing quality to your yarn or felting project.
Tussah silk takes dye readily and produces brilliant colors.
Insider Tip: We recommend Tussah silk for soap making. Create the most luxurious homemade soap by dissolving small amounts of silk fibers in your lye water; also makes your bars harder and longer lasting. It works equally well for cold process soaps and DIY moisturizers.
