Ramie - Cellulose Vegan Fiber
Soft, strong and bright: Ramie is an eco-friendly fiber made from a flowering variety of the nettle plant family. It is very strong and durable - actually twice as strong as flax - and in ancient times was known as grass linen. It is also resistant to bacteria and mildew, has a dense texture and feels smooth to the touch. It is non-shrinking, resists fading and dries quickly.
This is a 100% cellulose, vegan fiber - use by itself or blended with other fibers, suitable for all fiber arts. We recommend fiber reactive dyes if you plan to dye this fiber,

Most cellulose fibers do not felt very well on their own, but determined, talented crafters have achieved it. We recommend looking up special techniques on youtube etc.
